Crow

The crow is a messenger between worlds: clever, social, and closely tied to death and prophecy. Agrippa lists it under Saturn, and in many traditions crows carry omens and speak for the dead. It is also a creature of memory: crows recognize faces and remember wrongs.

Uses

• Divination and reading omens
• Ancestor and spirit work
• Banishing and endings
• Cleverness in hard situations

Working with it

Work with the crow on a Saturday. Leave a small offering of unsalted nuts outdoors and note which birds come and how they behave over the following days. For spirit work, place a crow image beside an ancestor photograph and a black candle, and ask for a message.
