Peacock
AnimalIn 1 Signature2 traditions
The peacock's tail is a field of eyes, which made it the bird of Hera and of all-seeing watchfulness. Agrippa lists it under Saturn and Juno; the Golden Dawn sets it on Aquarius's path. Because its flesh was said not to decay, it became a symbol of immortality, and in alchemy its many colors mark a stage of transformation.
Uses
- Self-expression and confidence
- Vision and watchfulness
- Renewal and immortality
- Honoring Hera
Working with it
Work with the peacock when you need to step forward and be seen, or to see clearly. A peacock feather (shed naturally and legal to own) on the altar with a blue candle makes a strong focus. Ask which of its eyes you need to open.
