Fire is the element of will, passion, and transformation: the spark that starts things and the flame that burns away what is finished. It is hot and dry, rising, and quick. In the zodiac it rules Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius; in the Tarot it is the suit of Wands.

Working with it
Call Fire in the South when casting a circle, with a red candle and the wand. Candle magic is Fire magic: write what you want to release on paper and burn it, or carve a goal into a candle and let it burn down. Dance, drumming, and sun-gazing at dawn also raise its energy.
